HARDCAR Distribution to Host 22 Trees Event in Northern California to Combat Veteran Suicide Rates

According to a recent Department of Veterans Affairs study, roughly 22 veterans commit suicide every day in the United States.

February 19, 2019 – (Fortuna, CA) – HARDCAR Distribution has partnered with a number of local businesses and veteran organizations in the Eel River Region of Northern California in order to bring awareness to the alarmingly high rate of veterans committing suicide every day in the United States.

The event, aptly named 22 Trees, will take place on Saturday, February 16 from 12pm-2pm at the Fortuna Veterans Hall and Memorial Building located at 1426 Main St, Fortuna, CA.

Those who have fought to protect the freedom of American civilians are losing to the war on emotional, physical, and mental pain. A 2012 report from The Department Veterans Affairs (VA) estimated that the number of Veteran deaths by suicide is roughly 22 per day.

“The amount of support we’ve seen from our local community has been incredible and we can’t thank everyone enough. As a veteran myself I see behind the cloak, this epidemic is unacceptable and the average civilian doesn’t see what’s happening. We hope this event will bring more awareness and open peoples eyes to what’s really going on.” – Morgan Dodson, HARDCAR Data Collection. US Navy, Hospital Corpsman.

Local partners like The City of Rio Dell, The Fortuna Veterans Hall and Memorial Building, The Jonsteen Company, Humboldt Redwood Company, Tractor Supply Store, and more have given their support and donations to bring awareness to this cause. Donations for mulch and soil are still being accepted, as well as financial donations for a plaque to show appreciation for those who have sacrificed to serve their country.

HARDCAR is veteran owned and operated with 100% of its employees being Service Combat and Law Enforcement Veterans. For more information about this event, please email Morgan Dodson at mdodson@hardcar.com or call at 707.570.5690.
